Feature Writer

Ah, writing. People ask, when you’re staring at a blank page, how do you start? Well, my primary rule is that before I even attempt such a thing my flat must be immaculate, so I do the washing up, then progress by degrees to more complex and unusual forms of procrastination. Today, for example, I straightened the photographs in my front room, then eased a cotton bud between the strings of my harpsichord, to clear any dust. After this, I usually drink several cups of tea in languid succession, then fire up my laptop, ready to expound on everything from design and interiors, to food and travel, as you can see in this catalogue for M&S. Although I always manage to hit deadlines, remarkably, I’ve never been commissioned to write a feature on procrastination.
